Akayama Ryu Jujutsu Summer Camp 2008

On July 12th and 13th, the Akayama Ryu conducted their annual Summer Camp at the French Quarter Chateau Lemoyne Hotel in New Orleans, LA. Attendees were from Jujutsu clubs around the US Gulf Coast. Akayama Ryu instructors included Richard Worthington, Chris Dewey, Mark Burton and Ed Beyers. Guest instructors included USJJF President Bruce Bethers and Robert Carver. Although smaller than previous Summer Camps, the instruction was first rate and everyone enjoyed the training and fellowship. Also, during the course of the event, USJJF President Bruce Bethers promoted Robert Carver to the rank of Shichidan and presented him with the "1st USJJF Leadership Dragon Award" for "Long and Steadfast Leader Service". Below are a few photos from the camp.
